Repatriations

Royal Air Force Brize Norton has responsibility for managing Repatriations.

A repatriation centre has been built on the southern side of the airfield to allow families privacy at their time of grief.

Oxfordshire County Council have the details of the repatriation route and other arrangements via the following link

Individuals can register their email details so that they can receive notifications of when a repatriation is planned to take place.

A Memorial Garden has been built at Norton Way Carterton to allow a safe place for members of the public to show their respects when the Cortege passes. The Memorial Garden in Norton was has been dedicated and trees planted. The union Flag donated by Royal Wootton Bassett is flown at half mast from a flag pole on the day of a repatriation. At other times another union flag is flown.

There is ample car parking near to the Memorial Garden and disabled badge holder parking adjacent to the garden.

At a nearby sports pavillion refreshments and toilets are available.

There is also a proposal to erect a memorial bell at the site. Details of the proposal and how to donate to the Bell Appeal  can be found on the Oxfordshire County Council repatriation page.

The Oxford Mail also maintains information on the Repatriations on their website.
