HOLYWELL AIR CADETS
HOLYWELL AIR CADETS TO TREETOPS ADVENTURE HIGH
ROPES
COURSE IN SNOWDONIA
The Royal British Legion, Ysceifiog Nannerch and
District Branch, with 2480 Squadron (Holywell) Air Training
Corps took 18 Cadets down to the Adventurers course between
Llanwrst and Betws-y-Coed on Wednesday, where they, together with
Carol Cathery, the Legion's Branch Welfare Chairman, responsible
for liaison with the Cadet unit, and Flt. Lieut. Sue Davies, the
Squadron's C.O. also enjoyed (perhaps rather less that the young
cadets!) the thrill of climbing through the trees, along ropes,
balancing beams, zip wires and rope bridges and through obstacles.
Equipped with a full body harness and helmet, and attached to a
revolutionary safety system, some of the fearless moved rapidly
ahead, but it still looked a long way down to earth for most
participants.
With this affiliation of the 2 organisations, the
ongoing relationship between the Armed Forces, and the Cadets helps
to bring Youth and young life the Legion, The No.1 provider of
welfare, comradeship, representation and Remembrance for the Armed
Forces Community with their new strapline "Shoulder to shoulder
with all who serve"

This photo shows the group kitted up and ready to go.

This photos show the group after the adventure,
clutching their certificates, with the RBL's Poppies, for at this
Poppy Appeal time the Cadets help the branch with collecting
donations for the Serving and ex Services community, including the
recently wounded from Afghanistan.
