STANDARDS:

Keith will be representing the County by carrying the County Standard at The Royal Albert Hall this year(watch for him on the box).

The Women's Section Standard Bearer took part in County Standard Bearers Comp held at Loughborough Grammar School(8 Oct) and Dianne came 3rd in her compertition

Keith took taken part in the National Compertition but did not make it into the top half of competitors.

Our standard bearers took part Loughborough Lions Carnival by partisipating in Standard Bearers Display supported by the County Pipe Band, this was well worth watching and enjoyed by all even with the inclement weather.

POPPY APPEAL AND REMEMBRANCE

Again this has been a good responce from members and public alike, it started with the opening of Loughboroughs Garden of Remembrance with more crosses being planted.   We then had two locations where the National 2 Minutes Silence were observed, the 1st being at The Carillon Tower in the presents of the Mayor Cllr Jill Vincent and the 2nd was in Carillon Court shopping area and this was supported by stores who closed thier tills during this time and the was observed by shoppers.   This years Parade and Service was again well attended with what is beleived to be the largest throng of people in Queens Park, around 5000 we beleave and we would like to thank ALL involved in making these events so memorable including the Bands, contingents and local council and first aid cover who without the event would not be as great as it is.
