The Presentation took place at the meeting of the Ashton under Lyne Branch of the Legion on the 16th February 2010 to Mrs.Mary Davies of the Branch Certificate of  Appreciation for 35 years of service to the Legion. Mary's late husband also served the Legion well as Chairman, Secretary and later as Treasurer having been awarded the County award and also the Gold Badge. Mary took over from him as Secretary and Treasurer and I have later taken over as Secretary and Mary still holds the post as Treasurer. Over the years she has done invaluable service to the branch and has been instrumental in raising a vast amount of money for the Poppy Appeal. As a Branch we thought it fitting that she should be awarded this honour for serviced rendered.
