Tagus Creek Wine

Tagus Creek wine is a Portuguese wine sold in red, white and rose varieties (see below for details) and has been developed specifically for the British market. The wine has won the Great Value Rose Award in the International Wine Challenge. A donation of 5p will be made to the Legion for every bottle sold.

Tagus Creek Rosé 2007 (13%) is a blend of Shiraz and the Portuguese grape Touriga Nacional. “...just perfect for outdoor drinking. A bright pink colour, its sweet, juicy berry fruit and subtle herbal spiciness make it well balanced and food friendly,” said Jamie Goode of the Sunday Express in June last year.

Tagus Creek Shiraz Trincadeira 2007 (14%) is a fresh, soft red wine with cherry and strawberry character. When Trincadeira is combined with the bigger, spicier Shiraz, the result is a wonderfully drinkable red.

Tagus Creek Chardonnay/Fernao Pires 2006 (12%) is a gloriously refreshing white wine. The soft aroma of tropical fruit with this blend of peachy, peppery flavours from the Fernao Pires grape, combines beautifully with the rich softness of Chardonnay.

New Legion credit card

The Legion and MBNA have joined together to offer a new credit card, which offers 0% p.a. on Balance Transfers for 12 months from the date the account is opened (3% handling fee applies), 0% p.a. on Card Purchases for 3 months and 15.9% APR typical (variable) and also the chance to support the Legion at no extra cost to you.  Through this card, the Legion receives approximately £30,000 per year towards its vital welfare work with the serving and ex-Service community.  For further details, or to sign up for a new card, please click here. 

Taxi for the Legion!

The Legion has teamed up with Location Based Telecom Ltd, operators of the Connect2Taxi service, a telephone based taxi locator that can locate your position when you call up and connect you to up to five taxi companies within 3km of where you are.  Calls cost 10p from BT landlines (other charges may vary).  Mobile callers are charged £1.50 for the location look-up service, of which 25p will be donated directly to the Legion.  All you have to do is call 08717 500 300 to get booking.

New Directory of Enquiries - 118 737 (PDQ: Pretty Damn Quick)

A new directory enquiries service has been launched that will not only help you get the phone number you're looking for quickly, but also help the Legion.  118 PDQ is the name of the service set up by Location Based Telecom Ltd.  It works like all other 118 Directory Enquiry Services, but every time you call, 10p will be donated towards the Legion's vital welfare services.  The number to call is 118 737 - the 737 part equates to the letters PDQ on your keypad, which stands for Pretty Damn Quick, and Quick it is!

Daniel Thwaites Brewery - Liberation Ale

Liberation Ale was developed three years ago by Daniel Thwaites Brewery to commemorate the role that veterans played in fighting for freedom during World War II.  Over £50,000 has already been raised for the Legion through every bottle sold.  Morrisons' Supermarket showcased the beer as their Guest Ale during October and November.
