Grants and Loans Manager

Salary - £36,000 - £39,000 per annum, inc LW

The Royal British Legion are in an extremely exciting period of growth and this key role is required to lead the team that manages the individual grant and loan giving provided by The Royal British Legion across the world. This includes the development and implementation of the Welfare Strategy and a review of all policies and procedures pertaining to casework. In addition you will be expected to manage the operational aspects of grant schemes as delivered through the Legion’s large welfare network, ensuring compliance with the Legion’s charitable objectives and policy as well as Charitable Law.

The successful applicants will have:

  • A degree or equivalent level of education
  • Proven experience in Welfare Services
  • Knowledge of Social Welfare Work and the Statutory Benefits system
  • Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with volunteers, ex service and other charities and government agencies
  • Experience in grant giving
  • Proven management experience
  • An entrepreneurial mind, able to look at new opportunities to expand the service
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to problem solve, multi task and use initiative
  • Good knowledge of the issues affecting the health and welfare of Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families is desirable
