Edinburgh Personnel Recovery Centre

PRC-Edinburgh_SignThe Royal British Legion took over the running costs of the Personnel Recovery Centre (PRC) based in Edinburgh from 1 January 2011 with the Army continuing to provide staff. The Legion is giving £5 million to fund PRC Edinburgh until 2020.

The PRC Edinburgh was originally established by the Army as its 'pathfinder' centre in partnership with the Scottish Government and the veterans' charity Erskine, with £0.75 million in start-up financing from the charity Help for Heroes.

PRC Edinburgh has been central to the development of the Army Recovery Capability and has already supported the recovery of 57 soldiers since opening in September 2009.

The Legion has committed to contribute £50 million to build the Battle Back Centre and provide for the operation of 4 Personnel Recovery Centres and the Battle Back Centre for the next 10 years. The other three PRCs will be at Colchester, Catterick and Tidworth.
