Poppy Advice - Benefits and Money Advice Service
The Royal British Legion, The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and Citizens Advice have launched a unique Benefits and Money Advice Service in order to help provide dedicated benefits and money advice to the Serving and ex-Serving community, and their dependants.
The collaboration, funded by The Royal British Legion and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund was launched on December 7 2007, across 18 Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) in England and Wales. This has since been expanded and now consists of 38 Citizens Advice Bureaux across England and Wales, 3 Citizens Advice Bureaux in Northern Ireland and a team of seven in-house Benefits and Money Advisers at the Legion's county offices.
The service offers advice on a range of welfare and benefits issues, including money and debt advice. Trained advisers offer free and confidential advice for dealing with money worries, including checking entitlement to state benefits and dealing with debt.
