Military recovery

Every Serviceman and woman who has undergone life changing injuries in military service is entitled to the highest quality recovery and rehabilitation support.

The Royal British Legion is committed to meeting the specific needs of sick and injured personnel and helping them return to Service or to make the transition into civilian life.

In conjunction with the Ministry of Defence and other Service charities, the Legion has pledged £50 million over ten years for the development and operation of Personnel Recovery Centres and the Battle Back Centre (Lilleshall) as part of the Defence Recovery Capability programme.

At our Centres, wounded and injured Service personnel are given the medical support, facilities, time and space to help them regain self-confidence and motivation. Our Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs) provide medical care, training, and support with housing, work placements and employment opportunities.

As part of the MOD led Defence Recovery Capability, The Legion has pledged £50 million over ten years for the development and operation of Personnel Recovery Centres and the Battle Back Centre.
