Additional Grant Eligibility

Dunkirk Veterans Association

Veterans of Dunkirk in 1940 and the British Expeditionary Force are eligible for an immediate needs grant. Their widows/widowers can claim £75 when an eligible partner dies. For more information about the Dunkirk Veterans Association click here.

British Korean Veterans Association

All those who served in the Korean War 1950-1955 are eligible for an immediate needs grant of up to £350. Excludes funeral fees, care home fees and annuities. For more information about the British Korean Veterans Association click here.

Far Eastern Prisoners of War

Former Far Eastern Prisoners of War (FEPOWs), their spouses, widows and dependants are eligible for assistance with immediate needs or personal needs grants (for those who have stayed in hospital or those who live in a care home). Grants for reunions are also available.

St James's Branch

St James's Branch makes immediate needs grants of up to £500 to Royal British Legion beneficiaries. Check your eligibility for this grant here. For more information about the St James's branch click here.

British Red Cross

Veterans who served during WWI and WWII and are war pensioners or their spouses are eligible for immediate needs grants from the Red Cross fund.

Irish ex-Service Trust

Ex-Service personnel currently residing in Ireland are able to apply for a grant from the Irish Ex-Service Trust. For more information click here.

Grant-in-Aid for Polish ex-Service personnel

Polish veterans who served under British command and stayed in the UK after WWII may apply for an immediate needs grant as well as an on-going grant of £50 per quarter.
