Grants and loans

The Royal British Legion can provide support to serving and ex-Service people and their dependants who are suffering financially.

We are also there for those who need urgent assistance to get through a temporary crisis, such as homelessness, or providing a loan for property repairs.

For any of the services listed below (unless alternate contact details are provided), please contact Legionline on 08457 725 725, who will be able to put you in contact with your local welfare representative.

Homelessness

The Royal British Legion is there to support and offer practical assistance to every ex-Service man or woman and their dependants, who is homeless or living in temporary accommodation.

Contact your local Legion County Office or Legionline on 8457 725 725 (info@britishlegion.org.uk).

Women's Section Allowances

The welfare of women who served, or are wives or widows of Servicemen and their dependants is very much our concern. The Women’s Section has a number of benevolent programmes where financial assistance and other services are available to women, men and children.

Visit The Royal British Legion Women's Section website for more information.

Property Repair Loan Scheme

Even the smallest of properties need essential repairs or renovation to keep them maintained. If you are living on a restricted budget, such as a pension or a disability allowance, finding the extra funds needed to carry out vital work can become a huge problem. We can help with this.

External Grants

Any charity and serving unit (not individuals) can apply for a grant in support of their work if they deliver welfare services to members of the serving and ex-Service community and shares our aims of safeguarding the welfare, interests and memory of those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and their dependants.

Use the links below to obtain a copy of our guidelines and the appropriate application form for either a registered charity or serving unit.
