Can we help?

Care phones provided by The Royal British Legion

Do you need a bit of extra support and protection in your home?

Perhaps you:

  • are infirm or disabled;
  • recently left hospital;
  • have been victimised;
  • are a victim of burglary;
  • live in an area with high crime levels; and/or
  • live alone.

If so, you might benefit from having a care phone installed in your home.

Extra security and peace of mind

Care Phone alarmAlso known as a 'personal alarm', a care phone is a telephone-based unit that summons help to your home in an emergency.

Help at the touch of a button

The unit is activated by pressing a button worn on your wrist or around your neck - usually because you've tripped and fallen, or simply because you need some reassurance.

This sends your details to a 24-hour response centre, where a friendly operator will decide whether to send the emergency services to you.

Extra security

As well as care phones, we can install the following security features in your home:

  • spy holes
  • key safes
  • door chains
  • units that remind you to put the chain on.

How do I apply for a care phone?

If you are a Royal British Legion beneficiary, the Legion's handy van service can install a care phone for you - free of charge.
