Leave it out Ken! - 2011

Ken -LogoThanks to the help of our supporters, Ken Clarke was persuaded that a Chief Coroner should be appointed - this will hugely benefit bereaved Armed Forces families.

  • All 650 MPs were emailed by constituents in their local area 
  • Many MPs received more than 30 emails each
  • Over 1000 messages of support were posted on the Leave it out Ken! website
  • There were more than 13,500 'likes' on Facebook
  • The campaign was covered in the press and in over 20 political blogs
  • Nearly 500 "thank you" and "well done" messages have been posted to date

Time to Do your Bit - 2010

Mod - Pledge TTDYBIndependent polling has revealed that Time to do your bit was the most recognised and supported campaign in Parliament at the time, with 78% of MPs saying they support it and 92% rating the Legion as the most effective campaigning charity.

  • All 650 MPs were contacted by constituents in their local area 
  • 1465 emails were sent to MPs
  • There were 6,898 'likes' on facebook
  • 464 out of 650 MPs (71%) pledged to do their bit for the whole Armed Forces family
  • Which means that for about every 3 emails sent, another MP pledged their support!

Honour the Covenant - 2007-2011

This was the result of a huge public campaign which ran over many years during which we distributed posters and car stickers among other things!
