The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.
Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
When Armistice Day, (the 11th day, of the 11th month) does not fall on Remembrance Sunday, informal homage is paid at the main Stalybridge and Dukinfield War Memorials.
A Parade and Service takes place on Remembrance Sunday in Stalybridge during the morning and again at Dukinfield in the afternoon.
