Remembrance

 

REMEMBRANCE 2011

The village turned out in force to both Remembrance Services this year.  On the 11-11-11 Sidbury Primary school children joined those gathered in the Garden of Remembrance and on Remembrance Sunday amongst those laying a wreath at the War Memorial were the Chairman of East Devon District Council Peter Halse and the Branch President Sir John Cave Bt.    The well attended Service at Sidbury Church followed.  Afterwards a Lunch was provided in the Village Hall for 60 guests with catering provided by Hazel Hallett and helpers. Hugo Swire MP a member of our Branch and Peter Halse were amongst those present.

A Remembrance Service took place at  Sidford St Peter's  in the evening, amongst those laying a wreath were Mrs Francis Newth,  Vice Chairman East Devon District Council and Mr Stuart Hughes, Chairman, Sidmouth Town Council. 

Branch Standard Bearer, Mrs Heather Anguige attended all the Remembrance Services, assisted by the Sidmouth Branch Standard Bearer at Sidford St Peter's.
