Welcome to the Northampton Branch of The Royal British Legion
Hello and thanks for visiting the Northampton RBL's
website
The Royal British Legion is 90 years' old this year and it
is the UK's leading Armed Forces charity and one of the
Country's largest membership organisations.
We have just finished another record breaking Poppy Appeal
fortnight. The generosity of the townspeople means we
collected an astonishing
**** £110,759.00 ****
At this stage last year we had collected £96,000.
This in turn led to our highest ever total of
£104,000.00.
In a time of recession and austerity it is an amzing tribute to
our collectors and volunteers and the ever generous public that we
have blasted last year's total with another 9 months of our
financial year to run (Oct-Sept).
Thank you for continuing to support our work
in helping our serving personnel, veterans and
their dependents.
See the news and events pages for how we are spending £50m to
support the MOD and build on the wonderful work that Help For
Heroes has been doing.

You can find information about the Northampton branch on
this site including updates on the local Poppy Appeal and
Post-1945 Roll of Honour page.
There are also details of our special 90th Anniversary
Concert which can be found on a separate page.
We have a strong ethos in helping Serving personnel and veterans
and the families that support our military communities.
Locally we have 8 trained and very active case-workers who provide
advice and support. We also have a strong wish to maintain
contact with widows and the families who have lost relations whilst
in military service.
The Northampton Branch meets at 7.45pm on the first Monday
of each month at the the Ex-Serviceman's Club, 47 Sheep Street,
Northampton.
To contact the Northampton Branch please ring our local
Legionline on 01604-457655 or guy.voice@virgin.net
Membership is open to everyone. If you have an interest in
the objectives of the Legion and want to help and support for those
who have served and their families, come and join us. We welcome
men and women of all ages, whether they have served in the Armed
Forces or not.
Legion membership ensures that
- Remembrance is kept alive and that the sacrifices our brave
Service men and women have made are never forgotten.
- The ex-Service community have a voice and that their concerns
are brought to the public eye.
Becoming a member also provides the opportunity to get involved
in a wide range of activities and events held locally, regionally
and nationally throughout the year.
About The Royal British Legion
We provide financial, social and emotional care and support to
all members of the British Armed Forces - past and present and
their families. The Legion is also the national Custodian of
Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation
and its Armed Forces and is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal
and its emblem the red poppy.
Founded in 1921, the Legion is not just about those who fought
in the two World Wars of the last century, but also about those
involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting
for the freedom we enjoy today.
Visit www.britishlegion.org.uk for details of
our national initiatives.
