Easter Bonnets 2011
April saw 16 of our members bring their decorative creations to
the meeting. After some hard judging, it was finally decided
that Secretary Dave took 1st Prize, Standard Bearer Steve, was 2nd
and Felicity came 3rd. Here we see the lovely bonnets.

Murder Mystery at the Legion
Branch members and friends took part in a Murder Mystery lunch
at La Casita near Pinoso in January. It was extremely
enjoyable so to set the scene for those who couldn't
attend........
There has been a murder at the Double D Ranch. In the
bunkhouse was found the body of Dray Duncan, local landowner.
There are many suspects........click here to see list of
suspects and more photos and find out who did the dastardly
act...

A great afternoon with our budding thespians!
Poppy Walk 2010
On the morning of Sunday 11 April around
30 members and friends and two dogs assembled in the
mountains 30 miles from Alicante, in the village of Hondón de los
Frailes for the regular Poppy Walk.
The weather was warm, sunny and calm and
gave great opportunities for good photographs of the surroundings.
There was a mountain walk of 5k and also a 10k route for those more
serious walkers in the group. The views were amazing, down to the
coast on one side and then over the Hondón Valley.
Our photo shows some of the walkers just
prior to leaving, along with Adele (third left) and Philip (second
right) who planned the routes and organised sustenance for the
walkers on their return.
27 walkers set off and luckily - 27 returned!
Over €250 was raised for the Poppy Appeal. Apart from a few achy
limbs, everyone said how much they had enjoyed the walk and plans
are now going ahead for another in September/October time when the
weather starts to cool.
News and events
A list of dates for your diary will be included shortly of what
is happening in the Hondón Valley Branch of The Royal British
Legion.
