Remembrance
The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian
of Remembrance.
Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day
traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their
lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

Remembrance events.

In Harrogate we have a busy Remembrance Sunday with a full
service at the Cenotaph including the Army Foundation College, the
Royal British Legion, Regimental Assocations, Uniformed Cadets and
Scouts and Guides.

In the afternoon a Service is also held in the afternoon at the
Commonwealth War Graves at Stonefall where Commonwealth
representatives attend together with civic parties. This also
includes members from the Army Foundation College.
Also in the afternoon is a service at Starbeck again attended by
all.

Mr Iain Townsley - our further flung member from Australia -
laid the wreath at the Cenotaph on behalf of the Branch for
2011. He very much enjoyed the after parade drinks!!
