One of my proudest moments since our formation was to meet "Old Bill", Bill was 95 years old and a WWII veteran who spent over 4 years as a POW. Whilst still active both his eyesight and hearing were failing him, enter the Royal British Legion Village in Kent who within a week had found Bill a place at the village.

I had the honour of escorting him there, see him settle in and meet the staff and other residents. I felt more than confident when I left that he was in outstanding hands.

It was a nice surprise a few weeks ago when I received an email from the Village with a photo of Bill on his 96th Birthday, and also the news that he is to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace in June.

Below is a list of dates for your diary on what's happening in the Chonburi Thailand Branch of The Royal British Legion.

Malaysia 2010

We depart for Malaysia on 9 June spending Three nights in Ipoh and Four nights in Penang, returning on 16 June. Whilst there we will attend a total of Four Remembrance Services for the Malay Emegency.

Armed Forces Day 2010

On returning from Malaysia we will soon be hosting our Second Armed Forces Day, this year being held on Saturday 26 June at Tropical Bert's. We raised over 33.000 Baht for the Legion last year and hope to improve on that this year with the help of an auction.
