The Poppy Appeal in Brighstone and District

In 2008 our Vice President (94 years young) Mr Jim Long undertook a parachute jump which raised £2232. This boosted our fundraising considerably with our street/door to door collection netting £1506. 

November 2010 Jim Long at 95 years young undertook a second Sky Jump he raised £1644.88 for the Poppy Appeal.

Fundraising for 2009 net total was £2049.13. Therefore our street and door to door funraising for 2009 increased by £543.03. Jim Long is planning to make another parachute jump in November to commemorate Remembrance Day, weather permitting. 

2010 our Poppy Appeal Fundraising raised £3535.44.

So well done everybody, and a big Thank You to all the people of Brighstone and District who have been so generous again. 

On Sunday 15th August 2010 our Branch held a Drumhead Ceremony and Service attended by Island Dignitaries, Island RBL Branches and other Associations, with proceed from a Raflle and Donations we netted £208.00 which was donated to The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
