New improved StartHere web service

14 November 2011

Simple access to trusted information

If you're looking for trustworthy information about organisations that provide advice and support then look no further. As part of our long term strategy, The Royal British Legion is working with StartHere to provide easy access to over 27,000 national and local organisations and services across the country, and the number is growing all the time. Enabling people to find and locate information to help them to help themselves extends the reach of our services and provides information to help people to manage their conditions.

Other partners in this project include Poppy Scotland, SAFFA, Combat Stress, COBSEO, SPVA, RAF Benevolent Fund and Sailors Family Society who also provide a link through to the StartHere service.

How does StartHere work?

Start Here logoWith just a few clicks, StartHere guides people to organisations that can help them with a range of issues relating to health, money, employment, education and much more. When you first access StartHere you choose the subject and area of the country you want information about. There are different areas that focus on information for the Armed Forces Community including some charities that support veterans, serving personnel and their families. Short simple prompts direct you to the information you need.

StartHere is accredited with the highest accessibility rating and can be used by anyone: individuals, their families as well as service providers who need quick access to what else is going on in their local area.
