Over 1,000 man hours were dedicated to building and installing Poppy Man in Terminal 5 – sustained by in excess of 500 cups of tea! Poppy Man will on display until 12 November.
Passengers and visitors can view a video about this year's Poppy Appeal campaign which has the theme "Helping the Afghan generation - now and for the rest of their lives" and prompts them to make a donation by texting POPPY to 70222.
In addition a rain of poppies will feature on every media screen in the check-in area during the two minute silence at 11.00am on 11 November, Armistice Day, the day which marks the end of the First World War.
