Silence in the Square, Swansea

In 2009, for the first time, The Royal British Legion hosted a "Silence in the Square" event in Castle Square, Swansea on 11 November.
The event commenced at 10.00am with a programme of entertainment leading up to the two minute silence at 11.00am.
Following the Two Minute Silence at 11.00am, guests were invited to scatter poppy petals in the fountains in a symbolic act of Remembrance.
Classical group Blake and soloist Wendy Kupinski performed at the event with Bonnie Tyler reading "In Flanders' Fields". The event was be hosted by Mal Pope.
