The Rock Ride - Gibraltar to Stowe

26 June 2010 - 11 July 2010

A multi-charity sponsored bike ride from the Rock of Gibraltar to Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, UK. It will take place from 26 June to 11 July 2010, with 9 riders representing 6 charities hoping to raise over £100K from their marathon ride of 1500 miles in 14 days.

There are 2 riders for The Royal British Legion. Please help them through their sponsorship pages.

Rock Ride - Simon BourneSimon Bourne is a policeman from Bury St Edmunds and an International Triathlon title holder.

Simon, 46, is looking forward to the challenge and said "The Royal British Legion is very appropriate for me as I served in The Royal Air Force for 23 years and have got support from many friends and ex-colleagues from REF Honington where I served my last 8 years."

Simon Nicoll - Rock RideSimon Nicholl, aged 41, and originally from Bangor, County Down but now living in Wesham, Lancashire, is an air traffic controller with BAE Systems.

Last year he rode from Land's End to John O'Groats to support the North West Air Ambulance and Help For Heroes. As a self-confessed hater-of-hills and all-round fair-weather cyclist, Simon admits that this will be an arduous challenge but he is looking forward to the start of the ride on Saturday 26 June, which is Armed Forces Day.

"It must seem as if The Royal British Legion are the terminally untrendy cousin of Help For Heroes but they need and deserve every bit as much help: let's see how much we can raise!."
