Friends of the Forces Awards Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions applied to the Awards. 

  1. Applications must include all the information requested and the application must be received by The Royal British Legion before the closing date deadline of 5.00pm on 21 April 2010. Applications received after the date and time will not be considered by the judging panel.
  2. The Royal British Legion reserves the right to extend this closing date for whatever reason they may choose. Any new closing date will be posted on the website.
  3. Once an application has been submitted, no changes may be made.
  4. Applications and any supporting material will not be returned.
  5. The Royal British Legion and the Awards administrator may share certain details of any application with the media. No contact will be received by the entrant or nominee from any organisation other than The Royal British Legion other than as specified in clause 10.
  6. If you apply online you will receive an email acknowledgement of receipt of your application. Postal Applications will also be receipted. The Royal British Legion does not take responsibility for any submission that is not received by us electronically or by post, or which is not confirmed as received.
  7. The panel of judges is appointed by The Royal British Legion and all its decisions are independent of the awards administration. The judges' decision shall be final and there can be no appeal. The Royal British Legion will not enter into any discussion or correspondence concerning the results.
  8. The Friends of the Forces Awards 2010 and its administrators reserve the right to make any changes that subsequently become necessary.
  9. The Friend of the Forces Awards 2010 and its administrators may contact you or your nominee to request additional supporting material and/or additional references regarding your nomination.
  10. Should your application be successful you and your nominee will be required to participate in media interviews, photography and filming and attend the regional and national award ceremonies. This material will be used for ongoing marketing and promotional purposes by The Royal British Legion.
  11. Personal data contained on your application will only be used for communication purposes in relation to the Awards submission process and the Awards ceremony itself. Personal data will be held for up to 30 days after the National Awards ceremony on the 13th July 2010.
