  • We spent £84 million in 2012 on health and welfare for the Armed Forces community - that's £1.6 million every week.
  • We've committed £50 million over 10 years to help serving men and women who are wounded, injured or sick. The money will be used to develop the Battle Back Centre, an adaptive sports facility in Shropshire and to fund the operating costs of four Personnel Recovery Centres in the UK and a Personnel Recovery Unit in Germany. The facilities are part of the MoD's Defence Recovery Capability initiative, delivered in partnership with Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion, alongside other Service charities and agencies.
  • We spent £22 million in 2012 running our care homes and break centres.
  • In 2012 we supported over 25,300 beneficiaries through grant giving with £18.2 million of individual grants awarded.
  • Our Independent Inquest Advice Service supported 69 bereaved relatives through the difficult process of the coroner's inquest.
  • 589 people received Employment Grants totalling £748,990 through our Civvy Street programme in 2012.
  • Our Be the Boss scheme provided nearly 96 business set-up loans last year.
  • We provide 410 residential spaces in our six Care Homes.
  • 10,300 people saw the Bravo 22 stage production of 'The Two Worlds of Charlie F'.
  • 275 authorities joined the Community Covenant Scheme in the UK (as of Dec 2012).
  • 342,000 members support the Legion in 2,500 branches around the UK and overseas.
  • In 2012 we received 250 requests to trace former comrades through Lost Trails.
  • The TV audience for the 2012 Festival of Remembrance was 5 million.
  • We have 27,000 Legion followers on Twitter.
  • Over 7,000 people visited 'The White Picture' photographic exhibition at the Oxo Gallery in 2012.
  • 2,000 volunteers took to the streets for London Poppy Day collecting a record breaking total of £802,000 in one day.
