Silence in the Square, London

Petals in the fountains, Trafalgar SquareIn 2014, The Royal British Legion will again host a "Silence in the Square" event in Trafalgar Square, London on Tuesday 11 November.

Members of the public are invited to join us in a group act of Remembrance, starting at 10am and concluding with the Two Minute Silence at 11.00am.

Those attending are asked to start gathering at 9.30am and the event concludes at approximately 11.15am. Schools are invited to arrive anytime between 9.30 and 10.15am.

Ben Shephard will host the proceedings which will include musical performances from the London Welsh Male choir, NZ operatic trio Sol3 Mio and country group The Shires with readings by Kellie Shirley and Richard Glenister.

A bugler will be performing the Last Post and Reveille to mark the start and end of the Two Minute Silence.

Following the Two Minute Silence at 11.00am, guests will be invited to scatter poppy petals in the fountains in a symbolic act of Remembrance.
