Silence in the Square, London

Petals in the fountains, Trafalgar SquareIn 2013, The Royal British Legion will again host a "Silence in the Square" event in Trafalgar Square, London on Monday 11 November.

Members of the public are asked to start gathering at 9.30am and the event concludes at approximately 11.15am. Schools are invited to arrive anytime between 9.30 and 10.15am.

A bugler will be performing the Last Post and Reveille to mark the start and end of the Two Minute Silence.

Following the Two Minute Silence at 11.00am, guests will be invited to scatter poppy petals in the fountains in a symbolic act of Remembrance.

Ben Shephard will host the proceedings which will include musical performances by Next of Kin (X Factor) and Paul Potts (tenor), readings by actors Zoe Tapper (Mr Selfridge) and Adrian Lester (Othello at the National) and our own Poppy Girls performing the official Poppy Single 'The Call (No need to say Goodbye)'.
