Our anniversary

The Royal British Legion celebrated 90 years of existence in 2011 - something that we can all be proud of.

We planned an entire year of activities and highlights included a week of celebration leading up to our National Conference in Telford in May, the Great Poppy Party Weekend in June and a series of Cathedral Concerts around the nation.

Throughout 2011 we had an exciting calendar of fundraising events - both local and national - to mark the 90th Anniversary. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it a year to remember!

Our Google map of events shows some of the variety that occurred throughout the year.

The Great Poppy Party Weekend

The Great PoppyParty Weekend 10-12 June 2011Thank you to everyone who joined our nationwide celebrations for our 90th anniversary by hosting a Poppy Party on the weekend of 10-12 June 2011.

And also to everyone who joined in our toast at 4pm on Sunday 12 June.

We hope you've used your parties to raise valuable funds to further the welfare work of the Legion for the future, 90 years and more of helping millions of beneficiaries - men and women who serve and have served their country at home and abroad.

Please use the link below to donate the funds raised - or if you couldn't hold a party and would still like to contribute, it will be most appreciated.

Alternatively, if you would like a paying-in slip so that you can pay your collection in at a Lloyds bank near you, please contact Raj Bains on 020 3207 2255.

One of the most memorable parties was hosted by the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street on Friday 10 June and you can read about it here.
